This one-hour, three-session class will get you started in using this simple and effective tool to create presentations.Basic computer skills are required.Please register. Participants should attend all three sessions.

Voter Registration Day - Tuesday, September 25th from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm

September 25th is National Voter Registration Day. Drop-in and register to vote or check your voting status or register to vote. Also available will be important information about the November elections. To be able to vote on November 6th, you must be registered by October 7th.

A monthly group for anyone interested in the fiber arts including knitting, crocheting, spinning, embroidery, etc. All levels of expertise are invited to join us. We will work on our projects, get inspired, or get advice on trouble we’re having. Don’t know how to knit? We can help you learn! Led by Sheri Gavitt, Knitter. Registration preferred but drop-ins are welcome! Light refreshments will be served.

NEW! Truth be Told: A Nonfiction Book Club - Tuesday, October 2nd at 6:30 pm

Join us to discuss the first book in our new nonfiction book club led by Nonfiction Coordinator, Tom Frawley.

Our first choice is American Fire: Love, Arson and Life in a Vanishing Land by Monica Hesse. In American Fire, reporter Monica Hesse explores a series of arsons that took place in Accomack County, Virginia in 2012. In a breathtaking feat of reportage, Hesse combines proceduarl with love story, redefining American tragedy for our time.

Microsoft Word 2016

In October the library will offer Microsoft Word 2016 on Thursday, October 4, 11, 18 at 6:30 pm. This class meets for three sessions. Each participant should be familiar with a computer and its keyboard and mouse. The goal of this series of classes is to give participants enough familiarity to use Word comfortably and skillfully. Black History Walking Tour of Wickford - Saturday, October 6th at 10:00 am

Join Tim Cranston as he explores the story of the vibrant black community of the 19th century that once lived in Wickford. We will look at the lives of slaves and servants, mariners and merchants, and farmers and fishermen. A group of people tied not only to early African slaves, but also the Native people who were here long before the earliest settlers arrived. Who were they? How did they live their lives? What became of them all? We will examine this and much more on this intriguing journey. The walk begins and ends at the Town Dock at the end of Main StreetRegistration required.
