New Exhibit: Slocum, R.I. More Than a Train Stop
A new exhibit on the history of Slocum is currently on display at the library and will be up through May. Curated by Slocum resident Donna Desautels, the exhibit features images, objects and information related to the village and highlights oral history interviews conducted by Desautels of longtime Slocum resident Alvin Noss who passed away at age 106 in 2020. This exhibit coincides with a talk about the history of Slocum happening on April 11 at 6:30pm at Town Hall at 80 Boston Neck Rd. that is part of the North Kingstown 350th Anniversary Speaker Series. This talk will feature a video of Desautels's interviews with Mr. Noss. The video is available to view on YouTube here: A Converstion with Mr Noss of Slocum , RI, Short Version (youtube.com)
