The three areas you must focus on to get more business In today's competitive business world, business people are competing both with both local and non-local businesses for a share of the market.

Additionally, there are too many events to go to, too many things to do and too many ways to spend on marketing and sales initiatives.  Given these circumstances, what is a small business person to do with their limited time and resources?  Join SCORE counselor and marketing consultant Bob Salvas as he discusses the three business development areas that EVERY business should pay attention to if growth and long-term success are their goals.

In this stop-motion-animated film from writer/director Wes Anderson, an outbreak of canine flu in Japan leads all dogs to be quarantined on an island. A boy (KoyuRankin) journeys there to rescue his dog Spots (Liev Schreiber), and gets help from a pack of misfit canines who have also been exiledVoice cast includes: Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, and Scarlett JohanssonRated PG-13. Gained in Translation - Jazz & Pop Music: Thursday, August 30th at 6:30 pm

Join us on the library lawn for a unique program of famous jazz and pop songs that were written and performed in many languages by such well-known musicians as Frank Sinatra, Dionne Warwick, and many more. Songs in English, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Russian will be performed by a band starring Victoria Richter and Moe Methot with Shep Shapiro, Clune and Chris Brooks. This event is weather dependent.

The 1938 Hurricane - Wednesday, September 19th at 6:30 pm

On September 21, 1938, one of the most destructive and powerful hurricanes in recorded history struck Rhode Island. In observance of the 80th anniversary of this life-changing natural disaster, local filmmaker Carla Ricci, will show her Emmy nominated film “One Day…A Story of Storm”. Following the 20 minute film will be a question and answer period. Registration preferred beginning September 1st.

NEW! Truth be Told: A Nonfiction Book Club - Tuesday, October 2nd at 6:30 pm

Join us to discuss the first book in our new nonfiction book club led by Nonfiction Coordinator, Tom Frawley.

Our first choice is American Fire: Love, Arson and Life in a Vanishing Land by Monica Hesse. In American Fire, reporter Monica Hesse explores a series of arsons that took place in Accomack County, Virginia in 2012. In a breathtaking feat of reportage, Hesse combines proceduarl with love story, redefining American tragedy for our time.
