Book Bites: Cookbook Book Group - Monday, July 23rd at 6:30 pm

Join this unique book group where the participants chose a recipe from that month’s cookbook and prepare it to share with the group. This month we will be cooking and discussing recipes from New England Open-House Cookbook by Sarah Leah Chase. A monthly group for beginners and experienced “stitchers”. Bring your current project or get help starting something new. Don’t know how to knit? We can help you learn! Led by Sheri Gavitt, Stitcher Extraordinaire. Registration preferred but drop-ins are welcome! Light refreshments will be served.

Outdoor Movie Event! Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle - Wednesday, July 25th at 8:00 pm

Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, snacks, and bug spray and join us on the library lawn to watch Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle!

Four high school kids discover an old video game console and are drawn into the game's jungle setting, literally becoming the adult avatars they chose. What they discover is that you don't just play Jumanji - you must survive it. Rated PG-13.

This event is weather dependent. Registration is preferred to be notified if we have to cancel.

North Kingstown and World War II - Saturday, July 28th at 1:00 pm

 

Join us as we unveil our recently restored World War II Honor Roll Memorial which lists the names of over 400 North Kingstown residents who served in WWII.

To commemorate this event, we will be having three guests who will speak on the life in North Kingstown during WWII. Joining us will be North Kingstown historian Tim Cranston, author Brian Wallin and local WWII Navy veteran George Silva. Space is limited, registration preferred.

Gained in Translation - Jazz & Pop Music: Thursday, August 30th at 6:30 pm

Join us on the library lawn for a unique program of famous jazz and pop songs that were written and performed in many languages by such well-known musicians as Frank Sinatra, Dionne Warwick, and many more. Songs in English, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Russian will be performed by a band starring Victoria Richter and Moe Methot with Shep Shapiro, Craig McClune and Chris Brooks.
