All-American Girl
Meg Cabot

All-American Girl is about a fifteen-year old girl, Samantha Madison. She lives in Washington D.C. with her mother, father, and two sisters, Rebecca and Lucy. One day after an art lesson, Sam realizes that a man standing next to her is trying to assassinate the president. She jumps the guy with the gun and saves the president’s life. Now, the president’s son, David, just might be in love with her. The problem is that Samantha is already in love with Lucy’s boyfriend, Jack.

I enjoyed reading this book very much. I would recommend it to middle school and high school age girls because it deals with common problems such as getting poor grades, fighting with your parents, and the all-important love. Join Sam as she attempts to deal with these problems and discovers the real meaning of true love. This book is a page-turner, and I congratulate Meg Cabot for writing an excellent novel.
