Coffee and Books

Coffee & Books

Every couple of months, the library’s Readers’ Advisor, Maggie, hosts a ‘coffee & books’ session—it’s a great time to share what you’ve read recently or are currently reading (and a great place to get new reading ideas!). Here’s a complete list of the books recommended during our most recent ‘coffee & books’ discussion on March 7th, 2014. Enjoy! Questions? Email Maggie directly: mbrewer@nklibrary.org

New DVDs - Coming Soon!

You can place holds on new DVDs that will be coming in this month by clicking on New Feature DVDs - Coming Soon!. To receive the list via email every month, click on Newsletter Signup, click a checkmark next to New Feature DVDs - Coming Soon, type your email in the box at the bottom of the screen, and click on the subscribe button. If you're a fan of Pinterest, you can place holds from our DVDs Coming Soon Board!. Concerned that there are a lot of people in line for a DVD that you'd like to borrow? We recommend that you place a hold anyway because the North Kingstown copy fills holds picked up in North Kingstown first. You may move up the list more quickly than you thought that you would!

Tax Form Season is Underway!

The library now has several of the most asked-for Federal tax forms available and more are on the way.
Handouts are on a table in front of the Reference Desk downstairs.
The state does not send handouts of Rhode Island forms, but you may copy the reproducible copies available at the Reference Desk.
Access Rhode Island tax forms online at http://www.tax.ri.gov/taxforms/.
Federal tax forms are online at http://www.irs.gov/Forms-&-Pubs.

Mobile catalog is here!

We are excited to report that Ocean State Libraries has moved to a new mobile catalog. When you go to http://catalog.oslri.net or http://encore.oslri.net on your mobile device, the online catalog will automatically bring you to the mobile version of the catalog. It is now easier to place holds, renew materials, and search for new materials using your mobile device. The LibraryAnywhere app will no longer provide access to our catalog. Please contact the library if you need any help during this transition.
